PURPOSE:

To easily maintain the RADIUS database as well as providing comprehensive reporting information on users being authenticated by RADIUS.

Input & Setup

RAIDS version 1.51 allows for a one time import of your existing RADIUS database. Once inloaded, the system will automatically identify all of the required templates in order to maintain your RADIUS database as it currently exists.

In Order to perform the inload, you need to only FTP the USERS file from your DNS server to the system running RAIDS. You may require that a password be used. This may be user configured at Installation time.

During the import/inload process, the system will extract user information and the associated template profile.

After the inload process has been completed, you may wish to set up your account types. This category is to allow you the ability of grouping users in the generated RADIUS users database file. Suggested uses include:

  • FREE
  • Trial Account
  • Internal Employees
  • Dial-in Customers
  • ISDN Users
  • Employees of ABC Company

Template Editing

You may select any template from the drop down menu. Until changed, the names of each imported template is import:nnnn with the nnnn being incremented with each new template layout configuration.

You will noticed items in brackets/braces { or }. The reserve words bracketed will be replaced with information from the RAIDS database. Currently only four values are replaceable.

  • UserName - ( Actual name of the user )
  • Activate - ( Date of activation based on RADIUS log )
  • UserID - ( Authenticated user ID )
  • Password - ( User authentication password )

User Table Maintenance

You may perform user table maintenance by selecting the function from the drop down menu.

Once selected, you may edit the current selected record.

Notice that the date activated is NOT automatically filled in unless you have linked the RAIDS database to the AUDIT database. If they have been linked, you may elect to have the date activated field be extracted from the AUDIT database. This will indicate the first successful log-in authenticated by RADIUS.

The Type and Template are both drop down menu's.

While the PRIMARY function of the RAIDS product is to easily manage your RADIUS USERS database, a few reports are available.

  • You may request a list of users by Account Type
  • or perhaps a list of users by Template Layout

One additional report is available. You may elect to print the RADIUS database. This is selectable as either the Imported database or the Generated users file.
